For the occasion of Halloween, I recreated most of the signs from the demo onto 8.5″ x 11″ paper so you can print and hang them around for a cool type of decoration! I’d love to see a house that was set up like a failed quarantine area in the game. I think it’d be the coolest thing ever. With a little fake blood on some stuff, a bunch of signs, a floodlight, and a few sawhorses, I think you could pull off something awesome.
So, the demo for L4D2 came out today. I’m a big fan of all things zombie and the world of L4D, so I’m pretty excited about the demo and the upcoming full game. One of my favorite things in games are the little touches, and L4D has a lot of them. I love the messages from survivor to survivor on safe room walls, body bags piled up in corners, stuff like that.
One of my favorites has to be the signage from the game. I love when graphic design finds its way into games to create a sense of realism or just further the story. (I’m writing an article on design in games right now! Look for it! Here! At Bomb Guts! The website you’re on!) The signage in Left4Dead 2 really emphasizes the loss of control the government has over the population. It goes from high security stuff (don’t take off your color coded wristband, report suspicious behavior) to absolute batshit crazy fucking PANIC. (GET A GUN AND HIDE IN YOUR FUCKING HOUSE).
Here’s ten of the posters from the demo in 8.5×11 form. They’re not EXACTLY like the game (I had to change some stuff for paper size, etc.) but they’re damn close. Let me know if there’s a typo or something! Also, I couldn’t figure out what the seal at the bottom of the posters was in-game. It’s really low-res so I can’t make out the text, but it’s an image of a swooping eagle. I just defaulted to the Department of Homeland Security’s seal since it just sort of made sense.
Disclaimer: DON’T BE AN IDIOT. We (the staff of Bomb Guts), Valve, or anyone else aren’t responsible for what you do with these. These posters are a parody. They are meant to be a Halloween decoration, or something fun to cover with a little fake blood and hang on a dorm door or something to celebrate a cool game. If you hang these in a public or private place where they just shouldn’t be and cause a panic or freak someone out, that’s your own fault. We aren’t responsible for anything you do with these. Period.
Also uh…Valve? I’m probably breaking some sort of rule here. I hope it’s not a big deal? I just want the community to have something cool and L4D related for the holiday, like the L4D valentines cards from last year. Hope you’re cool with it.
Here are all ten posters. Have fun, and happy halloween from the staff of Bomb Guts!

The image above has a typo, but the final download doesn’t. Caught it as I was setting links.

This is my favorite poster from the game. It’s a really good snapshot of when shit has officially hit the fan and the government lost control of New Orleans.

This one would be kind of funny to have over your door with some fake blood on it when the trick-or-treaters come.

Would be a fun one if you were having a zombie invasion themed halloween party and wanted to keep one area off limits like a bedroom or something. …wait a minute, I want to have a zombie invasion themed halloween party god damnit!
We do a year-round haunted house, this years theme, toxic/zombie/fallout/ anyways the name of the huanted house is the toxic terror, and we were going to buy signs of the internet until we found your post, we appreciate the time you took to post this, we printed all of the signs on paper that we found at office depot, its like gloss paper and they have sticky backs.
